Manistee County Main Library has received a number of requests to restart our in-person book clubs for adults. The public has spoken and we’re listening!
The Salt City Fiction Society is a book club for readers that enjoy a solid plot, unique and relatable characters and thought-provoking ideas. We will be holding two discussions this month, so pick the time/day that works best for your schedule.
In January, we will be discussing “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig.
Imagine if you will, a library filled with millions of books. Then, imagine that every single book contains an alternative version of your life.
Nora Seed is a young woman who wants to end her own life. But when Nora is transported into the Midnight Library, she is given the opportunity to explore what could have been. This New York Times bestseller has over 230,000 reviews on Amazon. It was also a Goodreads Choice Award winner for fiction.
Enjoy this excerpt, then reserve your copy!
“It is not difficult to see yourself through the lens of other people, and to wish you were all the different kaleidoscopic versions of you they wanted you to be. It is easy to regret, and keep regretting, ad infinitum, until our time runs out.”
-from “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig
This program is free and intended for adults. Registration is required.
