Get ready to sniff out some rocks! In this session, you’ll learn all about the hobby of rockhounding including rules and regulations, rock identification and the best places to search.
If you’re new to this hobby, you’ll learn the basics here with a special emphasis on Lake Michigan. Rock specimens will be on hand so you can know what to look for.
This event is suitable for adults as well as upper elementary children and teens interested in rock collecting. Reservation is required for this event— please make sure to RSVP for all people attending the program.
About the presenter: Judy Thomson is a rockhound whose fascination with rocks began at an early age on the east coast.
Moving to Michigan presented Thomson with the perfect location to rekindle her love of rock collecting after raising a family.
